yesterday elle turned 2 months. her little personality is really starting to come out and she is getting super smiley, especially when i get her from her naps or when i get home from teaching a class. it makes me so happy to her cute little face. she makes my day better every day.

we blessed elle on october 9th. she was six weeks old. my family, my aunt and uncle and rob's parents were all able to come to the blessing. it was such a special day. rob gave elle such a sweet and powerful blessing. afterwards we had a brunch at our house {pictures to follow.. lots of things were taken from pinterest. it deserves its' own post.. and i need to get the photos from my brother}.

the dress that elle wore was made by my great grandmother. my dad, my sister, my brother, me and now elle have worn it for our baby blessings. the dress is 63 years old and gorgeous. it was so special to me that elle was able to wear this dress also.

i feel like i have picture and video overload of elle on our computer. i am going to post about elle in sections to break it up. here are a few more hospital pictures..

rob and i with dr. servy. he was our ivf doctor. he has a thick french accent, people travel from all over the country just for him, he is the nicest man and knows his stuff. we love him!

the first time rob held elle. i love this.

elle was two days old and we were supposed to go home that day. instead we went to the nicu. this was right after we saw her. she was all hooked up to monitors, had ivs and oxygen. it was so sad to our baby like this. i was a wreck.. you can probably tell this in the photo. i get teary eyed looking at this but it was part of the hospital visit so i had to document.

{elle would have episodes where she would stop breathing. they said her oxygen saturation levels were low. that's why she was in the nicu for eight days.}

going home! we were so excited to leave this place!

Elle's Birth Story

It has almost been two months and I haven't even recorded Elle's birth story. I have done it in my journal but if you are like me, you want to hear how it all happened. I always like to read how everyone else's birth stories were and so here is how it happened..

I went in on Tuesday afternoon at 4:30pm (August 23rd) to get cervadil. Before we went to the hospital the doctor told me to eat a big meal since it was going to be a while before I could eat again. I was craving Red Robin and Baskin Robbins chocolate chip ice cream. {Probably because that would be the last time I would eat at those places for a long time}. So those are places we went before heading to the hospital. I was such an emotional wreck on the way. I was nervous, scared, excited, anxious and sentimental. On our elevator ride up to L&D I just lost it and started bawling. I had to get a hold of myself!

When we got to the desk, we checked in and they were slammed. So we had to wait for about 2 hours to get a room. Our doctor came by and sat in the waiting room with us and he answered a lot of my questions and made me feel a lot better. He said not to worry that everything was going to be fine. He said he wasn't worried at all about me delivering Elle because I was very active, in great shape and that it was going to be a breeze. I didn't believe him then but he was right about everything being pretty easy. getting my colon taken out was way worse than this.

Ok, so we got into our room around 6:30 pm and then the games began. I got my cervadil around 8:00 pm and then I took an Ambien and tried to get some sleep but by about 10:00 pm I started getting super crampy and uncomfortable. The doctor came in at 7:30 am to break my water. That is such a weird feeling, right? I was only dilated to a 1 with contractions but the contractions weren't anything to write home about. I stayed at a one for what seemed like forever. My contractions started picking up and getting pretty intense by about 9:00. I took every one's advice and asked for the epidural early on. Good thing I did.. there were about 10 girls in front of me and then 10 girls after me waiting to get them. I got my epidural around 10:30. My right side was numb and my left wasn't. The nurse told me to press my pump for the next few hours to see if that helped. I hit a two by about 11 and stayed there until 2 pm. My contractions were now strong and hitting within a few seconds. At 2:30 I was at a 6! Finally! My epidural still was only on one side though. At 3:30, I had to get another epidural because my catheter had fallen out. Just in time because 50 minutes later it was go time! I had the good and strong stuff now. I was numb and had the chills like crazy. At 4:20 it was time to push. At this point, I used all my yoga and pilates skills. I seriously sat up in happy baby and pushed the whole time! My mom and Rob were in the room with me on either side holding my legs and encouraging me along. This was all happening so fast that I didn't think the doctor was going to make it but he came in about ten minutes before Elle came. At 5:18pm our little bundle of joy arrived!

Oh wow, that was such a special moment. I remember seeing Elle just roll out and I freaked out a little. The first thing I said was "Oh my gosh it's a baby human!" Yes, I know I can't believe I said that. I was very emotional. Rob was crying which was so tender and made me cry even more. When they placed Elle up on my chest it was such a sweet and spiritual moment. I held her, with Rob by my side, and we just stared at her and kept saying "she is perfect and beautiful and her head is not misshaped." The moment she opened her eyes I will never forget. She opened them up and just stared at me. I instantly felt this connection to her that is indescribable... Love at first sight.

I had an awesome doctor and nurse. My sister had the same doctor and nurse as I did when she delivered my niece which was cool. I had a fantastic recovery and felt great in the hospital. I really didn't feel like I had a baby. It was crazy.

What a special day that I will forever remember. I can't believe this time a year ago we were preparing for IVF. We had so many people praying for us this past year. We are so grateful for everyone's prayers, love and support. Modern medicine is truly amazing and can make miracles happen. We feel so blessed.

Elle is such a joy and blessing in our lives and we are so happy to have her.

I know its been too long without an update. I update my pojo blog daily and facebook is well stocked with baby photos but our blog has taken the backseat. We have so many pictures I need to post and I have started editing them. I promise a HUGE update with loads of pictures are coming in the next few days. I hope you haven't forgotten about us!

Elle is 7 weeks today. My how time flies. She is awesome, a great sleeper and eater and is a happy baby. I can't imagine life without her.

Today we went grocery shopping, went to lunch with a friend and ran a few more errands. She slept the entire time and I am not going to lie I was so proud that I got all my errands done in one trip. It was a proud moment!

Elle Posey Jones

Born August 24th
6 lbs 14 oz , 20 inches

She is the best baby. We landed an 8 day stay in the NICU because she had low oxygen saturation levels but she is now recovered and doing fantastic. We got to take her home on Thursday and things have been great.
{I was at the hospital 24/7 when she was in the NICU, hence the lack of blogging}.

We love her so much and she is perfection.

I am behind on blogging, and I know this the exact same post I did on my pojo blog. Most of yall are facebook friends so you see lots of pictures of Elle. This week I will post more pictures and give more details of how Elle came into the world, our NICU visit and life with Elle.

But for now, here are a few pictures of our perfect, beautiful baby girl...

right now i am currently sitting in my hospital bed, trying to keep my mind off of contractions and waiting for pitocin and for the doctor. i thought that blogging would keep my mind off of things for a few minutes.

yesterday afternoon we came to the hospital {picture taken outside of hospital} and they gave me cervidal last night. in the middle of the night i started having contractions and they have progressed are getting stronger and coming faster. now, i am waiting for everything to get started.

as i am sitting here just thinking about what in the world is about to happen, it still doesn't seem real we are about to have a baby. it feels like i am just in the hospital for another surgery. i don't think it's going to hit me until i get an epidural or until the doctor comes in to deliver the baby or maybe until i actually get to hold the baby for the first time. wow, today is going to be a crazy day that i know i will always cherish and remember always.

i just hope that everything goes pretty smoothly from here on out and hopefully baby girl will decide to come out sooner rather than later.

anyways, that's the scoop.. now we just wait for baby pojo!

the nursery is finally 100% done! {minus a few frames and photos}

i love the way it turned out and i am so happy it's done and ready for baby girl.

here is the finished product..

{lighting is a little weird because i took these last night}

we have to use the nursery as an office too. i just painted our desk so everything blends in.

i made the pelment boxes, covered the lamp with black and white polka dot rosette trim, spray painted the rocker and got the cushion and ottoman recovered. the rocker and ottoman are my grandma's so i was excited to use them in the nursery. oh and need a few frames for the wall.

antique chest i got a steal on. changed out the knobs, need some pictures in the frames and she is ready to sport headbands and bows just like her momma!

i think everyone has this ikea dresser {we have two in our house}. i changed out the knobs, made the looms with left over fabric and spray painted them.

now i just need to pack my bag. but other than that we are ready for baby pojo to come on wednesday!

well this is it.. my last weekly bump photo. i can't believe that i will have a 4 day old baby this time next week. i am still in shock because i kept thinking i had at least one more week until my doctor's visit. i think i am still getting over the fact that he is inducing me early because she isn't growing anymore. {which makes me a little nervous but the doctor wasn't worried and he said she is healthy and grown so hopefully he is right.}

anyways, i feel like a bag of crazy emotions right now. nervous, am i really ready?, a little sentimental because it's just been rob and i for the past 5 years, but i am so excited and anxious to meet baby girl because i know she is going to be so fun and precious. i mean seriously i need to get it together , right!??!

not going to lie i am going to miss nights like these.. driving to the dairy queen with the convertible top down in the summer just the two of us.

we have had a great summer but it's coming to an end.

but i am excited for baby girl to come and start a new phase of our life. we have been anxiously waiting to meet her for almost 9 months and i can't believe this time next week i will be sitting in the hospital holding her. wo, this is really happening i just can't wrap my head around. crazy.

36 & 37.. and baby news!

so big news today that i was not expecting at all. i had my doctor's appointment this morning and i was sitting in the waiting room thinking "this is my second to last doctor's visit before baby comes". i go into see the doctor he checks and measures me and then says to me "so how do you feel about being induced next wednesday?" what!?!?!? it got 100 degrees hotter in the room instantly.

he reason you ask? long story short baby and me have not grown in the last few weeks. he thinks it will be best to go ahead and deliever her a little early to be safe. so next wednesday at 6 am it is. i have to spend tuesday night in the hospital because i am not dialated. he is giving me cervidil(spelling?) to dialate me and then at 6 am i will be ready to rock in roll (i will be a nervous cat by then!). i have been having real {not bhicks contractions} this week and they have been 3 minutes apart lasting for 45 minutes - 1 hour. so he said since i am starting to have those and the fact that i haven't grown much he wants to get the show on the road.

ok, works for me. but not going to lie... i have been a little sidetracked, and off my game today because i can't stop thinking about the fact that one week from today i will be in the hospital in labor. i am excited and nervous all at the same. daddy rob is feeling the same way but we will figure it out.. right?

this sweet little girl passed away on thursday night and it makes me so sad. she was my good friend's daughter. it's so hard to see one of your friends go through something like this. i have blogged all about ruby and how to help their family right now over at pojo.

last week was our yearly beach trip on my mom's side of the family. for the past three years we have mixed it up and have been going to st simons island, ga. {i love this beach and i love the house we stay in every year because it's right on the water!} i have so many fun cousins, aunts and uncles that are loud and crazy. every year we have a blast together and this year did not disappoint! i didn't get a picture of everyone together but here are a few photos from this year's beach extravaganza..

this past weekend i had my last baby shower at my parent's house. unfortunately i don't have that many pictures. but it was a fun day and i got a lot of things that baby needed. one of the best parts of the weekend is my bff jenna came down for my shower and brought her to precious girls. it was so great to spend some time with her. (notice i didn't take a picture with her at the shower so i had to take one on saturday before she left).

last thursday, july 7th was our 5 year anniversary. crazy we have married that long beacuse it doesn't feel like it. we celebrated by going to dinner. r jones is the greatest.. i am glad he think i am cool too.

last friday hit my 32 week mark. as of today, 7 weeks 4 days left to go.

i can't get enough of homemade {ones from mexican restaurants} tortilla chips with extra salt, lime and salsa and i could eat fruit all day.

i know our blog has turned into a pregnancy blog. the reason? not much else is going on in the jones' household. what have we been up to?

- i am busy teaching classes & personal training

- i have been doing projects for the nursery and around the house organizing

- if i am not working or doing a project, then you will most likely find me at the pool reading a book.

- rob is busy studying for the dat all day every day. he takes the dat in 2 weeks. this is a big deal. he is a smart cookie.

jogging stroller help!

alright moms i need you to weigh in on this because i don't know. this baby jogger city micro stroller is on sale here for $99! it's a cute color and if it's like the city mini i love how it folds up with just a handle. however, i am not going to be using this as my everyday stroller i will be using this as a jogging stroller. is this really a jogging stroller? have you heard good things or used this as a jogger? what do you use?

i know rei has sales on bob's .. but remember i live almost 3 hours from an rei people! my town has a walmart, kmart, lowes and big lots.. that's it. so i do a lot of online shopping.

let me know what have heard what you think, it would be greatly appreciated!

on saturday some of my friends threw me a baby shower. everything was decorated so cute and they had a grits bar... such a neat idea. it was a lot of fun and felt kind of surreal that i was opening baby presents for my baby. i still don't think it's real sometimes that we are going to have a baby in 9 weeks and 3 days. seriously, am i old enough for this???

my mom, sister and cute 4 year niece drove down for my shower {in the top left picture, neice was busy planning for a photo opp} and then here are a few pictures from the shower. i am awful at taking pictures. wish i could have gotten more with everyone who came but oh well.

probably one of the best things i got at the shower..

a few girls i train made baby a pojo bib & onsie and a zumba onsie. oh my gosh! i was so excited i almost started crying i loved them so much. i can't wait to put her in the pojo onsie next to one of my pojo mats! and, when she comes to the gym with me.. don't worry she will be sporting one of these get ups.

so remember how i told you i was going to make pillows out of glue and a yarn wreath last weekend? well, i made them and they turned out great and were both easy projects!

this is the finished product..

i posted the tutorial for my diy hot glue pillows {pretty proud i made up the directions as i went along} and the yearn wreath on pojo. get it here.

i think that i will be making more pillows from hot glue, considering i can't sew...

i know that lately my blog has turned into preggo pictures of me and things about the baby. since i use this {like many of you} as a journal with the goal to print out books, that's why i have so many baby bump pictures. and, let's be honest my life isn't very exciting.. teaching lots of classes, training clients, pojo, doing things to get ready for baby, cooking, cleaning, wife duties, and getting in my pool time. so not much exciting stuff, other than the baby, is happening right now with me. anyways, onto more exciting things.

lately i feel like i just want to do all these diy projects because i am tired of the look of our front porch, i have to get the nursery/office ready, and our living room i am sick of all the pillows and rug we have in their. so needless to say i think nesting mode has kicked in so we will see what i get done. so i am starting with the porch (still waiting on some nursery furniture to come.. so the nursery is on hold).

yarn wreaths have been all over the blogsphere and pintrest and i have caught the yarn wreath bug. so i bought some supplies and am going to make one this week.

i don't sew. i want to learn but for now i can't sew. my pillows outside are faded and need tlc. i have been looking for outdoor pillows but they are pricey! so i thought why not just recover the pillows i have? hancock is having a sale on outdoor fabric right now. i got this red and white striped fabric for 50% off. i am going to make/recover the pillows using fabric glue. never tried it so i will let you know how it goes...

i am also going to spray paint the side table because the paint is chipping and worn down.

hopefully the porch will be made over by wednesday. i will post all about it later this week...

a few weeks ago, i flew to utah for a quick trip for 2 reasons: 1. to help this girl fly back to atl with her two beauties and 2. i was missing all my great friends and i wanted to go visit before i had baby and 3. i needed rio.

while i was there, some of my good friends threw me a surprise baby shower. i was so surprised and excited to see everyone i cried when i walked in the door! i have great friends and i am so happy i was able to visit with everyone and see so many of my friend's cute babies. i wish i could have seen all of my friends in utah while i was there but you know how it goes.

man, i miss utah!

a few of you have been asking..

if i know if baby jones is a she or a he.

the answer?

no! i went to the doctor today just for my checkup and my next ultrasound is may 9th. i am so anxious to find out and these next 3 weeks i feel like will go by so slow because of that.

the good news, the baby has a strong 153 bpm heart rate so that always makes a pregnant lady happy. i guess the bright side of the situation is that the gender should be very accurate at almost 23 weeks.

we went to my parent's this weekend for general conference. today it was 78 degrees and gorgeous outside. my mom is a fantastic cook and i wanted an apple pie but i have never made one. she showed me the ropes and i made my first apple pie.. it turned out great if i may say so.

baby is growing because the bump just got bigger within the last few days. i can still wear all my clothes comfortably but i have a feeling that will be going out the window soon. i can't believe in 2 weeks i will be half way. i can't wait to meet this little babe.

so i am dying for 3 reasons:

1. {main reason i'm dying} i just called my doctor to see when my next ultrasound would be. i have an appointment in a few weeks and ill be 20 weeks so i was hoping he would let me have a 20 week ultrasound... no! it will be between 21 - 24 weeks.. what?!?!?! i gotta know what baby is, i'm not good at waiting, can you tell?

2. i gained my first lb last thursday and this morning i gained my second lb. i know you gain weight when you are pregnant, but i'm nervous it's just not going to stop! it's weird i know.

3. has anyone bought a snoogle?(pictured above) they are here. but they are $55, geez! are they worth it? if they are, tell me and i will go and buy one.

i am now 17 weeks and 3 days. this picture was taken last weekend when i was 16 weeks.

even though september seems so far away time is flying by. i am loving fruit again, am finally cooking more because this week i have started feeling so much better! i also have so much more energy which i attribute to being able to exercise again. things are looking up.

now, i just want to know baby j's gender....

i have no roots, i am very blonde again and i have a good hair stylist. i feel like liz again!

in baby news, i went to the doctor on monday and had another ultrasound. little monkey is so cute but kind of stubborn like his parents because he kept turning his back on us. but it did look like it has taken after it's momma and loves to exercise. baby was doing hundreds! but, i was hoping to tell the sex since i was 16 weeks at first it looked like a boy then it turned and then baby turned looked like a girl. so who knows? i was 95% sure we are having a boy because most invitro pregnancies are boys but maybe it's a girl..

the doctor said i can return back to normal exercise. (don't worry friends i won't do anything crazy like usual). and, it feels great to exercise again. especially happy that i am teaching zumba again!!!!

well, it's 85 degrees today and we are headed to the pool!

i landed myself another hospital visit this week because i could not stop throwing up! i threw up for 14 hours every hour or half hour straight just like clock work. i hate staying in the hospital and i hate throwing up. (i blogged all about my ivf journey and a few life lesson's here on pojo.) i am doing better and baby is just fine.

now, i have a few things that i love this week and i had to share...

i can't get enough of the apricot signature vanilla from bath and body works. it's like a party everytime i use. smells so good.

since being pregnant, my skin has been SO DRY. anyone else? i have used mac's studio fix for years and i decided this was probably adding to the dry skin issue. so, i switched to studio tech.. BEST DECISION EVER! go get some now. it makes my face feel so soft like velvet, and feels like i am not wearing makeup and it's better for my dry skin. seriously, why did i not know about this? this is it here.

this is the best lash primer ever made that i just started using. it makes lashes so full and long.

On Saturday night, Rob and I went to a murder mystery dinner with some of his grad student friends. It was a lot of fun and Rob won the award for Best Detective! (the last picture shows his prize.. treasure chest, pirate bandana and award).

i have really wanted a silver or gold pendant necklace with my initial on it for about a year now. i found one that i loved last summer but i didn't buy it and ever since i have been on the lookout for the perfect one. when i lived in utah, i saw the ritzy misfit (she makes the initial pendant necklaces i am talking about) booth at several craft fairs but i never found the necklace i wanted. around my birthday, i looked at her etsy shop and i found the one. i just got it in the mail a few weeks ago and i love love it! it's silver and good and the cool thing about ritzy misfit is that you can choose the finish, how weathered you want it and something else i can't remember. but i thought that was neat that you can really personalize your necklace to make it your very own. i don't like having the same thing as others so this necklace is definitely unique. oh, and it was $30 (for the charm and necklace). and, ali and jillian (former bachelorettes) own a ritzy misfit pendant too.

i know that most of you in the blogosphere were born in the 1980's or grew up during this era. which means i know you must know some pretty good 80's songs that are pick me up before you go girl (was that too much??) , i wanna sweat 80's jams. for my bootcamp class on wednesday, i am doing all 80's music (with a special workout that i will be posting on pojo thursday) and i need you tell me your favorite songs so i can make this list knock their leg warmers off!

i found the idea to make a wreath out of cupcake liners here and here. i used pushpins instead of hot glue which i recommend. i found cute red polka dot liners at hobby lobby. i still need to re- do the flower on the wreath but i think it turned out pretty good. plus, it was easy. it's starting to feel a little festive in our house (valentine's day).

First off, thanks for all of your sweet comments on my last post. Things are going better and my health is getting back in shape. I have been on "couch" rest for the past two weeks so that is a new one for me. (Since I am so used to working out all the time or moving constantly.) But, not going to lie it's been nice to be able to do nothing!

Christmas was spent at my parent's house this year. The days leading up to the big day and Christmas were a lot of fun. I was able to spend time with all my family, see my high school bff, a few cousins and some aunts and uncles. We had a lot of fun spending time with my family. i have neglected this blog because i spend all my time at my pojo blog. also, life has been crazy. rob just finished his first semester of grad school and got all a's!!!! we have just undergone a really crazy something that i will tell you about later that has been really time consuming and hopefully will be a miracle. and i was just in the hospital for four days because i was sick and dehyrdrated. why do i always end up there? i don't know.

i will say that i am grateful to be married to such a wonderful, patient, fun and loving husband, i am grateful he is so smart and that we are a little closer to dental school, i am grateful for my job, i am grateful for my amazing parents that we live so close to, i am grateful for wonderful friends, i am grateful for answered prayers, i am grateful for the gospel in my life and i am grateful for good health.

i do have pictures that i will post one day. but life has taken over the past month.

on saturday i wore my favorite white tee to teach zumba and pilates in. after class, i realized it had a lot of makeup on in from where i kept wiping my face ( i know gross). i soaked my white tee in bleach and it turned my shirt yellow. i was freaking out. i googled how to get yellowing out of whites and it said to use cascade. i tried it and my shirt was bright white. i am going to start soaking whites in the cascade mixture because it really made my white shirt bright and look like new. here is the mixture: 1 cup cascade filled with a bucket of warm water. soak overnight and then immediately wash with just detergent in washing machine and don't use bleach in washing machine.

seriously, your whites will look amazing!

remember this movie?

today, i was in a cute little georgia town with my parents and i saw the bike (picture below) that was in the original mary poppins movie. it was such a cute bike and it was in mary poppins for crying out loud.. awesome!

the reason we were in this town was to see this idea house from southern living.

seriously, go look at the video tours and photos. they don't do the house justice but this house had a lot of creative and great ideas for one day my future home. loved the blue ceilings throughout the house, the craft room to die for, loved the built in drawers in the stairs, loved the subway tile and creative fixtures and loved that they used bricks for the entire basement floor. seriously loved it all. i love being back and being from the south!

did i mention that senoia, georgia has a lot of movies filmed in their town? the killers & fried green tomatoes are a few that were filmed there... when i heard ashton had been there i got so excited (i'm lame i know).

one more thing, everyone always says that moroccan oil is so amazing. i finally tried it today and they are right, it is AMAZING! my hair felt healthier, softer, looked shinier, had more volume and was so much easier to straighten. seriously, you should go get some. has anyone tried the shampoo & conditioner or the serum they have for curly hair? i may just try that too.

i can't believe it's almost been a month since i have posted anything on our blog! not much has been going on that's blog worthy in the jones household but here are a few updates so that you keep up with us.

1. porch diy makeover

i don't have a before and after but i bought the plastic outdoor table. it was just an ugly plastic tan color and i spray painted it an avocado color. spray paint is the best seriously. i bought two black cotton pillows from walmart and painted a "j" on each, my mom bought me some daisy's and planted some herbs for me. and then i bought the green wreath at target, painted the "j" and added some polka dot ribbon to spruce it up. i love my porch.

2. i love having a beetle convertible to cruise around town in with the top down in this great fall weather. a diet dr. pepper with vanilla during sonic happy hour also makes things better.

3. i am so lucky to have not only a job in this small town but i am so grateful that i am teaching 10 classes, have clients i train and i just started up a bootcamp that is going great. i feel so blessed to have this job for 1. my sanity, 2. it's what i love doing/partially my identity 3. it pays the bills.

4. i have neglected this blog because i blog daily on my pojo fitness blog here.

5. rob is a busy bee with grad school, teaching labs, and shadowing a dentist. he is doing so great with studying and school and i am so proud of his hard work.. i know it will pay off.

6. i am loving fall and the great pumpkin and other fall scents that go along with this season.

7. don't judge me but i am starting another real housewives series this times it's beverly hills.. i know i am pathetic.

8. i want a new header where do you make/get them?

9. we have a few friends and they are fun!

10. we are happy and healthy and feel very fortunate.

Rob and I have been in Georgia for a little over a month, time flies. Since we have moved I have gotten the diy bug again and did a few projects because 1. it's cheaper, 2. i got do things just like i want them, and 3. i like doing it. So, here are some photos of where we live these days.

DIY Project #1 : Striped Curtains

Orginally, I wanted to stripe them gray but Micheals and Walmart were both out of gray so black and white it was. But, I think they turned out pretty great! These curtains took FOREVER to do but, totally worth it and I LOVE hanging out in my bedroom now. It feels like a peaceful haven.

I am thinking of making my own fabric headboard??

It's a HUGE space, which is nice since we live in a SMALL town and hang out at home all the time.

DIY Project # 2 : Lime Green Bookshelf

Ok, so this was a bookshelf my parents had in the basement. It was just a regular wooden bookcase. I love BRIGHT things and thought that a neon green would really make it pop in the sea of khaki walls and chocolate brown couches. I also found this AMAZING Amy Butler scrapbook paper that I modgepodged in the back. The camera doesn't do it justice but I think it looks great and makes me happy! (And, I made that green and brown artwork piece on top of the shelf when we first got married and what do you know, it matches perfectly!)

DIY # 3: Pomegrante Side Table

I bought this table when I was in college, it was a brown bamboo table from TJ Maxx and I was getting over the table. But, with a little spray paint it is a new table. Now, again this picture makes it look like a funny color but it's a paprika pomegrante color that's pretty bright in real life. The lamp, I need to change or change the shade but I am all about using what I have right now and so that's what I did.

DIY # 4: Silver Ladder

This ladder I picked up at an antique store a while back and it was a dark green. Didn't really match my anything, and who doesn't love metallics. I had some silver spray paint in the closet and thought I'll try it out. LOVE it!

So, that's a glimpse into our house. It feels like home now and that pet smell is gone (I blogged about this previously!, thanks for your suggestions!) Come visit us, we have an extra bedroom and bath just for you friends!

One of the best parts about living in Georgia is the fact that we are so close to my entire family (1 hour 35 minutes to be exact). My parent's live on the river (literally this is their backyard.. amazing,right? ) and we took their boat out for labor day. Such a fun day!

ok, so a few posts ago i blogged about having this weird dog like order that is faint but i notice it big time when you first walk in the door. This is when i hate renting because there can be funky smells from the previous tenant. We have been in our place for almost a month and I have DEEP DEEP cleaned a lot (i am a little ocd about cleaning), lysol like crazy, have scentsy's i use, there is this odor gel jar thing from bed, bath and beyond that is supposed to eliminate all orders, and the wallflower in the odor eliminator scent (thought this helped but didn't completely elminate it). But NOTHING has completely gotten rid of this smell and i seriously might go nuts!!!

Here's my question, does anyone have any other ideas of how to rid odors, especially dog/pet smells in a house? I didn't grow up with pets, will never own a pet and yet i have this pet smell that is driving me insane. I have heard on tv that if you put a raw peeled onion in a space it will work but smell like onions for a few days, ever heard of that? I am open to ALL ideas!

( I am sorry if I have offended anyone with pets, I am sure your house smells great and that your pets are very nice animals. )
